well i'm driving on down the road a wagon of whiskey to unload radio's playing some sweet bluegrass the air is clear and sun is high swung a left out on westfield but something jumped in front of me i violently swerved to the side hit a wall and it all went black -------------- i'm just a driver in a strange town looking to unload and get back home i wasn't a hero by any means i'm just an ordinary guy ---------------- i crawled out of the wreckage whole the truck was a-fire - shot to hell looked around and i saw a kid attacked by monsters, the undead hitting back the kid fought out but his strength would surely go a tyre iron i did grab zombie brains all on the ground chorus we ran for a week, lived off the land seemed to be getting nowhere fast looking ahead i made up my mind we'd head up for the higher ground up through the woods we did hike leaving the town far down below if we could make it to the top we'd breathe the fresh air and continue on chorus

well we made it down to the boat managed to get that old bird afloat set the compass for the northern star let's get out of here let's go real far the undead massed apon the shore was not our problem anymore we're fit to hit the open sea nothing to stop us now, it's like a dream then suddenly the engine died, and started to smoke the tide was turning, pushing us back to the shore frantically we paddled on the oars trying to keep away from the shore the undead cries come on louder still they sensed brains and moved in for the kill our whole life flashed before our eyes all the bitterness and all the lies facing death we stood up with good grace finally ready to meet our fate but then the engine kicked, back into life we hit the open sea and never looked back
